Smitten Kitten

Smitten Kitten is an inclusive adult toy store that provides sexuality and pleasure education, and has a mission to make tools and resources for adults accessible, affordable & easy to shop for.

Their site needed an update, their inventory had grown to a point where they needed to restructure the categorization on the site, and they wanted to add a blog. Smitten Kitten wanted to make it easier for shoppers who didn't know what they wanted to learn about and discover new products while their more knowledgeable shoppers quick access to the products they were looking for. They also needed to have a website that integrated with their in-store POS system, which led them to a full migration from Shopify to Lightspeed.

My role in this project was to consult with them to recategorize their online inventory, and to redesign, migrate, and build their new website. They came to me with a newly-designed brand identity and wanted to incorporate the vibrant brand color palette and pops of their brand patterns. Smitten Kitten wanted their new website to convey a fun, lively, inviting, yet professional and established feel. It was a fun challenge to take their maximalist, saturated-color aesthetic and make it into an uncluttered, easily navigable online store.
